Our Process

We follow a simple step-by-step process from your initial enquiry to mortgage completion.

Step 1.

Introductory fact find

The first step in securing your new mortgage is an introductory meeting, which can be held either in person at our office near Ottery St. Mary, Devon, or conveniently online via a secure video call.

During this meeting, we’ll discuss your specific requirements and outline the process in detail.

Step 2.

Mortgage research

Following this meeting, we’ll begin the mortgage search. We’ll assess the options against your requirements and determine which offer the best solution for your circumstances.

Step 3.

Mortgage agreement in principle

To help you understand how much you can afford to borrow, we’ll request an agreement in principle. This document indicates how much a lender is prepared to lend you after carrying out their credit checks and running an internal affordability assessment. An agreement in principle, gives you the confidence to view properties knowing you can proceed with making an offer.  

Step 4.

Mortgage application

When you’re ready to apply for your mortgage, we’ll invite you to a mortgage application meeting. At this meeting, we’ll present your options and our recommendations on the best deal for your circumstances.

Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll submit all the paperwork on your behalf.

Step 5.

Mortgage processing

We’ll progress your application dealing with any queries from the lender. We’ll update you regularly and notify you once the mortgage offer is confirmed.

Where relevant, we’ll liaise with solicitors and estate agents to help keep your house purchase on track.

Step 6.

Completion

On completion day, we’ll check in to ensure you’re comfortable with your mortgage arrangements. After that, we’ll leave you in peace to enjoy your new home!
